RS2 Technologies Announces New Products, Product Enhancements and Pricing Optimization 7/1/2010 Munster, IN – RS2 Technologies, LLC, a leading provider of access control systems, has announced several enhancements and additions to its line of access control products, as well as a number of pricing optimizations. Product and pricing announcements include: New Configurations of Access It!® Universal Software Effective July 1, 2010, RS2 is releasing 100, 500 and 1,000 controller versions of its Access It!® Universal Standard and Enterprise class software. This expansion of the Universal software platform is being coupled with the restructuring of pricing for certain products “to make Enterprise level systems available to a wider market,” according to RS2 Director of Dealer Development Dave Barnard. The company has announced price restructuring for its Access It!® Universal Enterprise level software and also for system-wide options for its Browser (Web) Thin Client and Terminal Services Thin Client products. According to Barnard, RS2 “is listening to the voice of the market with these moves. We have recognized a significant demand, both from our dealer base and from the market in general, for products and pricing that will help more users move into Enterprise class systems. These initiatives, in conjunction with our expanded server platform offering (see below), are all part of RS2’s commitment to support smaller system users and the dealers who partner with them.” New Smaller Format Regional, Cluster and Regional/Cluster Servers Introduced In response to customers who have been asking for hot server redundancy (automatic failover) support for smaller systems, RS2 is now offering 8-Controller/Site, 25-Controller/Site, and 100-Controller Site versions of its Access It!® Universal Enterprise Regional Server, Cluster Server, and Regional/Cluster Server platforms. (Previously, only a 255-Controller/Site version was available.) At the higher end, the company also now offers 500 and 1,000 Controller/Site versions as well. EP-1501-Plus Support Through the release of version 2.0.24 of its Access It!® Universal access control software, RS2 now supports the EP-1501-Plus system control processor. The EP-1501-Plus will support up to 8 downstream SIO (serial input/output) boards, which can be either hard-wired (MR-50, MR-52, MR-16IN & MR-16OUT) or the MR-51E PoE (Power over Ethernet) board. The MR-51E is also supported by the EP-1502 and EP-2500 system control processors. Pricing Optimization Announced on Selected Hardware The company also announced that, effective July 1,2010, it has optimized pricing on selected hardware products, due to the favorable impact of having standardized its hardware offering around the EP Series of system control processors. That standardization, announced earlier this year, was accomplished in conjunction with a decision by RS2’s hardware supplier, Mercury Security, to discontinue production of its 2g line of controllers in favor of the more versatile EP line, which better accommodates the new PoE (Power over Ethernet) based products.
